How to Make a Permanent Jeep Stirrup Step
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
I recently bought a 2004 Rubicon TJ (my dream car) but my wife (Brady) couldn't get in the Jeep easily. I liked the idea of a stirrup step but the ones you can buy that hook over the side of the tub seemed like a potential hazard if it were to slip. Instead I made her a stirrup step that is bolted under the seat frame and I show you how to make your own in this video! This install is also seen ...

Tits! awesome and thanks for free plans! = free comment! 😁 Just replace the 'star knob' and threaded insert for a 'stack weight / gym pin' and you got a much easier operation 🤙
My NEW CAR is a 2001 Wrangler TJ, 4 banger
I bought mine in ‘98. It’s been my daily driver ever since.
That's awesome! Glad to hear it's still going
Nice work. I wish I could run a router that well. I've done laminate countertops and I'm going to try and attempt some receiver ends first before I try speakers. This will be my go-to vid. I didn't know wood glue could be used like that! I always use contact or spray glue. Both are NOT user friendly. One missed drop, and the project is over! Great vid!!
Thanks! I had no interest in messing with contact cement so I looked for an easier method, it's holding up perfectly so far
Great video and thanks for sharing. I’m curious of the amount of heat that phone charger gives off on the board over night. Is it pretty significant or barely any? I’ve never taken one apart and am curious on the heat it generates outside of its shell while charging. Thanks again 🙏🏻
Don't know an exact amount but it's nothing crazy. Still using it every night with no problems
Very nice countertops. You both did a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! They're still going strong
Watched your shaker hood build and then this one. Great work. Thank you for taking the time and sharing. Subscribed!
Hi. Are there any other liquids in the steam?
It's just water
Never use Rab lighting. It is horrible and the company is horrible.
At last ! Finally found a vid with the same problem! Thanks a million for posting
You're welcome! Glad you found it
how can i get the material and cut sheet for this bench
I want know if a single sink can fit this cabinet, instead of me building 3ft width cabinet to hold a deep sink
what kind of stain you use very nice color
Minwax dark walnut. Should be linked in the video description
Damn!! What a good job!
Thanks!
Holy crap talk about precision and perfection sheeeeeeeesh
Yeah I've got issues lol
Did you use more than one can of the Rutland high heat paint?
Nope, there was definitely some leftover
What size tires?
285 75 R16. Just slightly under 33 inches
Excellent video I will give it a try thank you
Im just about to get started building this and wanted to ask how yours is holding up, and if there is anything you would change now that you’ve used it for a while. I’ve been looking forward to this for over a year now and can’t wait. Thanks again.
Mine is holding up well. Top has some scratches and marks, but it's a workbench. Some things I'd improve, more support under the middle, it can sag their when trying to move it. If I had to do it again, I'd probably build a separate cart for each rotating tool and have a way to join them together when needed as mine is huge and a beast to move by myself
Thanks! I have a big garage where it can stay most the time, so I’ll start with your exact design with the middle supported a little more and then add any separate carts if needed. I would really like a large table for assembly and gluing anyways.
Great video
Thanks!
How have the 5 knuckle hinge held up to heavy tools using just 3/4 ply?
So far so good. Don't use the belt sander too often though
Great video. Love your new ride!
Thanks! 2 years have gone by somehow. Still love it
This is very helpful. I am wondering what the limits are around what lava rocks to use. Could you use fire glass stones instead? Or is there a reason you have to stick with the rocks? Thanks
I just like the look of the lava rock, use what you like as long as it's fire rated!
just found this awsome work what size was the board
The boards I used should be linked in the video description. Dimension drawings can be found on my website which is also linked there
How long does steaming foam last before it returns to the original failure?
It's been a couple of years and mine still seems better than when I bought it
I like it, keep sharing your ideas for your jeep, good luck and can’t wait for your next video.👌
Thanks! I'm trying really hard to get house stuff out of the way so I can make another jeep video or two this year
This is absolute garbage. He didn't even use an electric screwdriver!
Nice detailed video. Could the HDMI be used for a front and/or rear mounted camera or are there any other ports available for cameras?
The head unit in this video has a rca video port for the back up camera. You could use the hdmi for a front camera, assuming the front camera has that kind of output. There are other head units that support 2 cameras via rca, you might be better off getting one of those
@@ProjectBilld Thanks for the response, I'll look around.
If you check out my website, I just posted about a larger floating touchscreen I put on my jeep. It has both front and rear camera inputs
I assume the driver gets less that 120 VAC from the wall switch when the dimmer is deployed. Does this affect the voltage required to run the LEDs?
I'm not sure, I never measured it while dimmed. I haven't noticed any issues with dimming them, though I do mostly keep them at full brightness since they're indirect lighting
Thank you for sharing .
What if it isn't squeaking but there is a pecking noise.
Sounds like you've got a bird in your floor
I couldn't begin to tell you what's going on without actually hearing the sound
You did an excellent job and an even better run through. Thanks subscribed
Amazing job! I envy you for taking the time and energy to do this. How are these countertops holding up two years later?
Pretty well! We eat at the island every day and it has rubbed through the epoxy on the edges where our arms rest. It's not very noticeable at all but it's something to keep in mind. Still, very happy with them.
can totally tell it is a gate from the front.
did he say how much he bought the jeep for?
2 arms and a kidney
My wifes 2024 cars back seat had to be re covered under warranty due to some stitching coming undone. The dealer said the seat fasteners had to be ordered since they are considered a one-time use. They probably fasten ultra tight for safety reasons.
lol at the end the sound through the speakers sounded horrible compared to the microphone recording. listening on focal floorspeakers
would b7000 work as adhesive? for the cloth
Nicely done. Exactly what I needed to see. I was mentally stuck on how to veneer the lip on the front. Your idea of shaving it off with a flush trim is money.
Awesome! Glad the video could help
For the love of god don’t leave a splice out of an enclosure!!!!!!
What are you referring to? If it's the led wiring that's low voltage and not a concern
Helps to watch the whole video I saw nm and assumed🤦♂️ was just looking at different ways people mount the drivers. Cabinet guys always do the finish but I’m doing mine. I see wire nuts like that and my head explodes lol sorry
It's alright! That would be concerning if I had done that
I like your idea. You should make more to sell
all that effort for a cheap pair of speakers lol. nice work!
I just bout a 2012 jk, and i have bought so many things for it already, and have a bunch more things in my amazon cart 😂
Haha there's a reason jeep can be an acronym for just empty every pocket. My advice would be to try and hold off until you've driven it for awhile. I bought a bunch of things at first that I ended up not wanting once I got a feel for my jeep
Great video! I too have always wanted an older jeep and you gave some great tutorials on simple upgrade.
Thanks! Do you have plans to get that older jeep?
I have this issue in multiple areas in my new house. This is exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks for your video.
I hope new means new to you and not new!
That's true. New to me. House built in 2012.
Congrats on the house!
Your wife talented with the countertop design, thumbs up
I'll pass along the compliment!
Thank you first and foremost for showing the cabinet measurements and explaining the different segements size. I've watched a LOT of cabinet builds and you are the only one I remember doing this. It's the first thing you wonder when watching these. BTW, awesome color. I have some Valspar cabinet paint abou this same shade. I prefer to do the whole toekick base separate, but there are plenty of videos on how to build them that way.
You're welcome! We still love the blue against our dark wood floors. Our uppers are white and it's a really nice contrast with the lower cabinets
Nice helpful video, does the wrangler have a stock subwoofer ? Did using the adapter cable to plug up the ddin head unit keep it functioning
The Rubicons have a stock sub woofer in the center console, though it isn't great. It uses the rear speaker inputs for the signal so yes the adapter cable is all you need. Be sure to hook up the remote control wire (blue/blue with white stripe) or the sub amp won't turn on
Good Job Bro👍
Thanks!
Looks great! Did you ever have any issues with fireplace micro switches?
Thanks! Like a millivolt switch? Neither of mine use that type of valve, so not particularly
